Thought you all might like to see these pics of my nine babies here.

All rescue dogs, Sheba and Shadow I adopted, Shari and Rocky are my long term fosters for life.

( very loved and very much part of the family)

Gypsy, Diesel, Luke, Archie are all waiting for the right loving forever homes,

and Tara who was the little girl that came in measuring around three inches across her back

and didnt have the strength to stand, covered in sarcoptic mange and was bleeding from her nose and mouth

due to kennel cough and a secondary infection of pneumonia.

She is right at the front of the picture and as you will see a happy, healthy, well fed little lady now.

Tara is also looking for the right loving forever home too.

Up the back of the garden are Gypsy, Rocky and Diesel,

in the middle is Shadow, Shari & Sheba,

down the front here is Tara, the little lady that was only 3 inches across her back.

Luke and Archie are the best of buddies and are also looking for their loving forever home.

To everyone that participated in our ' Dog in a box' appeal over Christmas.

 Our Family of Friends

It is truly amazing what a difference a few people with kind loving hearts

and a compassion for our rescue dogs can make.

We would like to say that the support of each and every one of you means so much to us here at the rescue

and it gives us the encouragement to battle on saving the breed.

Fostering

Good German Shepherd Experienced Foster Homes Are URGENTLY Needed.

We supply  all veterinary treatment and food for our rescue dogs whilst they are in foster care,

All we ask you to do is love them, walk them, play with them and treat them like you would your own dog until we can get our dogs homed.

A fully secure 6ft fenced garden is also required for safety.

Home checks will be required and you will be asked to sign one of our fostering forms too.

This is nothing to worry about it is just our standard procedure.

Call us on our rescue line ~ 01733 - 768155

TRANSPORT VOLUNTEERS VERY URGENTLY NEEDED - PETROL COSTS WILL BE COVERED.

We very urgently need transport volunteers here at the rescue that can give one or maybe two days a week to help.

All petrol costs are covered and it can be very enjoyable and rewarding taking our dogs to their new homes and seeing them settled.

Most of our dogs travel very well with no problems and enjoy the ride.

If you do not have a big enough car to transport our rescue dogs we would still appreciate your help

To help us with home checks and visiting the dogs we have homed to make sure that they are happy and settled.

We need people without school commitments as we cannot always guarantee that we will be back in time for the end of a school day.

We travel over Cambs, Norfolk, Suffolk, Beds, Lincs and Northants for our homing.

We cannot pay you for your time as we all work voluntary for our rescue dogs but we can cover your petrol expenses.

So come and join us and do something very rewarding.

Peterborough is our set off point when travelling.

If you can help please call us on our rescue line ~ 01733 - 768155

Foster homes , volunteers and fundraisers are urgently needed too.

OUR HOMING CRITERIA

Please note we only home our rescue dogs to experienced German Shepherd owners.
We do not home to people in full time work or even part time work if its long hours every day.
Its unfair to leave a dog on its own for hours and hours a day every week.
We do not home to people that keep their dogs outside our rescue dogs are family dogs and are to be
treated the same as the rest of the family and live indoors.
We require the garden boundaries to have fully secure six foot fencing so that the dog is safe whilst out there playing.
Home checks and Vet checks are required.

We try not to use kennels unless it is absolutely necessary , to take a dog away from its family and home surroundings
where it feels safe and secure and put it in a kennel cold and lonley is very distressing for the dog.
All of our rescue dogs that you are about to view below are all happy and contented in temporary foster homes.
We find this method works better and the dog settles very much quicker once it is homed in a loving forever home.

However, we do still need to find loving forever homes as quickly as possible for our dogs to make room for the many more coming into our rescue.

A SMALL INSIGHT INTO SOME OF THE WORK WE DO HERE AT THE RESCUE

TARA
TARA IS 4 YEARS OLD

Tara has been a very brave girl and fought so hard to live but throughout her ordeal
she has remained such a loving and loyal little lass.

Tara like many of our other rescue dogs we again saved from death row,.
When she arrived here she could not support her own body weight on her back end.
She was coughing up blood through her mouth and her nose.
She was also covered all over her back with sarcoptic mange.
The mange we cleared quite quickly
The rest of her symptoms she had to battle hard to overcome bless her with our help.

This is a picture of Tara the day after she arrived with us :-

We truly thought we was going to lose her when she arrived, we were all so distraught, she had no strength at all
and the vet said she was only a third of her recommended body weight
and she was finally diagnosed with a very bad
kennel cough plus a secondary infection of pneumonia.

Without  Tara's wonderful fight and courage and the love and total
dedication of her fosterers this little girl would not have made it through.

Gradually Tara started to respond to her medication and started to put on a little weight,
the one good thing she did have going for her which amazed us
was she had one heck of an appetite as ill as she was, which helped so much ..
she had cooked beef steak and lots of other fresh cooked meat together with her complete food
to give her strength and to build her up as quickly as we could to help her to fight back and survive.

As the weeks went by she improved each day

No she is not in a cage in the pic above she is running free in the garden ..
the garden is cordoned off to stop the other German Shepherd Dex that Tara lived with
in her foster home from jumping the 6ft fences.

More importantly look at her and how much better she looks now.

I am eternally grateful to our fosterers Bev & Kev that have done such a wonderful job with her,
and my admiration goes to this little girl who fought such a battle to live.

Tara is now off of her antibiotics and has been fully vaccinated to keep her safe.
She is also up to date with her Frontline & worming.
Tara has not yet been spayed but will need to be when she is homed.

Tara now needs a loving couple to give her the good life that she so deserves after such a battle
A very easy going girl with a lovely nature, she would be lovely for an active retired couple.
She needs someone to love her and spoil her and give her a good and loving life.

Tara is now here with the rest of the gang and she gets on so well with everyone
Tara and Diesel have bonded like Mother & Son here.
It would be wonderful to home them both together if we could
but we will seperate them if the right home comes in for Tara.

.
UPDATE ... Tara now weighs in at around 37 kilo's, a big girl, she now has a beautiful shine to her coat and is doing great.
